The Family Arraigo has always been one of the fastest ways to get papers, but beware: the rules have changed drastically since May 2025. With the new Regulation (Royal Decree 1155/2024), this help is exclusively focused on ties with citizens of other European countries.

Who is Family Arraigo for now?
Now, this permit is specifically for those who have ties with citizens of the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.

If your child is Spanish, you no longer have to apply for "Family Arraigo". Now there is a much better permit called "Residence for family members of Spaniards". The change is for the better and gives you more advantages.
What requirements must you meet?

Non-EU
Logically, it is for non-European foreigners.
Criminal Record
Apostilled and translated criminal record certificate. Without problems in Spain.
Prove the bond
Prove that the minor or person with a disability lives with you.
EU Family Member
Your child or family member must be a national of an EU country (not Spain).

The process: Step by step
Prepare documents
Passport, criminal records and birth or family relationship certificate.
Submit and pay
Application to Immigration and payment of the 790-052 fee within the next 10 days.
The response
Up to 3 months of waiting. If they say yes, 1 month to request your TIE at the police station.
